Daegu FC will be looking for three points when they host Suwon FC.
Daegu FC will host Suwon FC in the 18th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at DGB Daegu Bank Park (Daepak) on 10 October at 4.30pm. Daegu played Suwon to a 1-1 draw in their first meeting this season, thanks to an equaliser from Edgar.
Daegu’s five-match unbeaten run came to an end on 7 July when they lost 0-1 away to Jeonbuk Hyundai. Currently, Daegu is eighth in the league with 24 points after 17 matches, having won six, drawn six and lost five. Only six points separate second and eighth place. The team needs three points to gain the upper hand in the tight mid-table battle.안전놀이터
Daegu’s Edgar scored all four goals against Suwon FC. Daegu will once again target Suwon’s goal with Edgar, who has a knack for winning aerial battles. ‘Local Boy’ Go Jae-hyun and ‘King of Daepak’ Sejingya will threaten Suwon on the counter-attack. Vasellus, who has only played a short time, is also looking sharper.
It’s also a boost that Jungwon’s ‘Fighter’ Lee Jin-yong is available for this round after missing out due to accumulated cautions. The defensive line of Kim Jin-hyuk, Hong Jeong-woon, and Cho Jin-woo, who kept a ‘clean sheet’ with their aerial dominance and tenacious defence, are also healthy.
Daegu head coach Choi Won-kwon said: “The mid-table is a mixed bag. We will try to win against Suwon to move up a little higher. We have an A-match break after this game, so we will play with full stamina,” he said. “I believe our forwards will score goals if we block the movements of Ras, Lee Seung-woo, and Yoon Beom-garam. We will give a good show to the Daegu fans who come to Daepak.”
Suwon’s key player is Yoon Mi-Garam. He has been in good form, scoring in two consecutive games. Suwon are in 10th place in the league (18 points) and are in desperate need of a win. As such, they are expected to go all out in this match.
Daegu’s overall record against Suwon is evenly matched with five wins, eight draws and five losses. In the last 10 games, Daegu has a slight edge with three wins, five draws, and two losses. The battle for the top spot is fierce, with both Daegu and Suwon missing out on a point. It will be interesting to see if Daegu can keep the smile on their faces.
