Liam Hendricks (Chicago White Sox), who returned to the mound after overcoming blood cancer, has been sidelined with an elbow injury.

The White Sox placed Hendricks on the 15-day disabled list (IL) on Wednesday. It’s an elbow injury.

According to the Associated Press, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn explained that Hendricks’ elbow discomfort is manifesting itself the same way it did last year. Hendricks was placed on the IL on June 15 last year with a right forearm flexor strain and returned on July 5.안전놀이터

“At this point, we don’t know if it will be a similar process this year,” Hahn said. Hendricks will need to undergo further evaluation.”

Hendricks, a three-time All-Star and one of the best closers in baseball, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in January.

Instead of preparing for the season, he began fighting the disease, and after more than three months of chemotherapy, he was declared cured.

On March 30, he returned to the big leagues and wrote a “human triumph” drama.

Hendricks has pitched five innings in five games this year, going 2-0 with one save and a 5.40 ERA.

However, less than two weeks after returning from a forearm injury, he was shut down again.
