Liverpool are preparing to say goodbye to another midfielder.
“Liverpool have no plans to offer Thiago Alcantara a new contract when his contract expires in 2024,” Spanish outlet Fichajes reported on 5 May.
Thiago joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2020. It was widely regarded as a bargain signing as the transfer fee was only €22 million.
The signing paid off handsomely. With his wide vision and accurate passing, Thiago gave Liverpool the creativity they were lacking. The Reds went on to win the FA Cup and League Cup in the 21/22 season.
The problem was injuries. When he was on the pitch, he was incredible, but he missed too much time. Records show that Thiago has missed 66 games due to injury since joining Liverpool.
