‘Screen golf kingpin’ Kim Min-soo has a chance to win his first Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour event.
Kim shot a three-under 69 with five birdies and two bogeys in the second round of the KPGA Korean Tour’s KB Financial Live Championship (total prize money of 700 million won) at Blackstone Golf Club (par-72) in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, on Saturday.
With a midday total of 7-under-par 137, Kim made it home in a tie for the lead with Lee Jung-hwan.
Kim is no stranger to double-digit wins in screen golf events. However, he hasn’t had much success on the Korean Tour. His best finish is a tie for fourth.메이저놀이터
“In screen golf, variables like distance and wind strength are numerical, so you can calculate them accurately. However, field is difficult because there are too many variables. But field tournaments are more fun and I’m greedy. For now, we are aiming for a top 10 finish.”
Bae Yong-jun and Yeom Seo-hyun are tied for third place, two shots behind the leaders, after carding a five-under par 139.
‘Long-hitter’ Chung Chan-min, who won his first career title at the GS Caltex Mae Kyung Open, is tied for eighth after shooting a 3-under 141.
Baek Seok-hyun, who won his maiden title at the SK Telecom Open last week, narrowly missed the cut after shooting a 4-over-par 148 to tie for 52nd.
