Baeksho couldn’t prevent the team from falling.
Samsung Lions left-handed pitcher Baek Jung-hyun started the eighth game of the season against KT Wiz in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea, on Sunday. Baek has erased his struggles from last season by going 4-3 with a 3.10 ERA in 11 games this season.
He has made one appearance against KT this season. On April 30, he pitched five innings of two-hit, three-strikeout ball on the road, but left without a win.먹튀검증

The day started off badly. He gave up a leadoff single to Anthony Alford in the first inning. He then gave up a sacrifice bunt to Foyle, a walk to Jung Jun-young, and a single to Moon Sang-chul to put runners on first and third. He was unable to prevent Alford from coming home as he allowed a double steal. Park Byung-ho and Hwang Jae-gyun flied out to right field to end the first inning.
The second inning was clean. They got Kang Hyun-woo to ground out to second, Park Kyung-soo to fly out to right, and Ahn Chi-young to ground out to shortstop. In the third, Jang flied out to center, Alford flied out to right, and Jung grounded out to shortstop. Eight consecutive batters reached base. In the fourth inning, Moon gave up a leadoff single to Sang-chul Moon but retired Park Byung-ho on a wild pitch and Hwang Jae-gyun struck out swinging.
In the top of the fifth, the Tigers scored three runs. Baek Jung-hyun’s shoulders were lightened. Baek gained strength. He got Kang Hyun-woo to fly out to right, Park Kyung-soo to ground out to first, and Ahn Chi-young to ground out to second. The sixth inning was no different. We retired Jang Jun-won, Alford, and Jung Jun-young in order.

Baek Jung-hyun was on the mound in the seventh inning. He got Moon Sang-chul to ground into a fielder’s choice and Park Byung-ho to strike out swinging, but then gave up a single to Hwang Jae-gyun and a double to Kang Hyun-woo on an unfortunate play by Jose Pirela. That put runners on second and third. Jang Jang-woo, the pinch-hitter, was intentionally walked to load the bases. He had a chance to win the game, but he gave up a pushing double to Byeong-dae to extend the lead to two. It didn’t end there. He gave up a double to Jang Jun-won and hung his head.
That was it for Baek. On the day, Baek finished with 6.2 innings, 5 hits, 3 walks, and 6 runs (5 earned). He threw 102 pitches on the day, including 44 fastballs, 31 sliders, 26 changeups, and one curveball.
However, after two outs in the sixth inning, he was unfortunate. He gave up a hit and missed a catchable double by Kang Hyun-woo. Baek’s ERA rose to 3.46 and he suffered his fourth loss of the season.
The loss was Samsung’s fifth in a row, and they were unable to rebound from ninth place. They are now two games out of eighth place and half a game out of last place. Ace Baek-Sho came in to save the day, but he couldn’t save the day either.
